Qualitas of Life Financial Education is Now in Pittsburgh

For the first time, the virtual Financial Education course “Take the course of your life” from Qualitas of Life Foundation is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania thanks to the support of Neighborhood Allies, in collaboration with Casa San José, Latino Community Center and Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation and in funding from the Richard King Mellon Foundation.

The 8-session course began on Saturday, October 17 in which the participants will learn simple tools to manage family and personal finances. The second course began on Monday, October 19.

At the end of the entire course, participants will be able to set a financial goal, make better decisions regarding their finances, navigate the financial system, and learn about the services they can access.

With Citizenship Ethics

These workshops are aimed at Hispanic communities regardless of their immigration status, since the goal of the Qualitas of Life Foundation and allied community organizations is for Hispanics to integrate into this society so that they can enjoy rights, social and economic benefits, and at the same time, to fulfill their responsibilities and civic obligations.

In this way, the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze their own situations, seek better opportunities, and overcome the cycle of poverty are cultivated in the participants by designing a plan that allows them to achieve their financial goals.

Enrollment, participation and graduation

The courses are free and this time they are open only to people who live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To register, they must visit the Qualitas of Life Foundation webpage.

The classes will be virtual transmitted through Zoom. Once registered, the interested party will receive the connection link for the classes in their email.

At the end of the 8 sessions, the students who attend 6 sessions will receive a certificate of completion in a graduation ceremony in which the microphones are opened to share and express experiences.

Qualitas of Life

Qualitas of Life Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial education to Hispanic individuals and families. The headquarters is located in Manhattan, New York and works in conjunction with other community organizations in the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts and now in Pennsylvania.
